April Bower
My passion lies in transforming Argentium silver into wearable pieces using the language of texture and contrast. I believe in the beauty of “less is more” and showcasing the elegance of the metal itself. Functionality is important and you will find my works to be extremely wearable.
Using mostly Argentium silver because of its whiteness, fusibility and low tarnish qualities, April Bower adds gold as accents, hand fabricating, or shaping the forms either synclastic or anticlastic with hammers and wooden forms before finishing by hand polishing. The designs are both understated and striking and can be worn daily. Her career background in Fine Jewelry bench work dictates high craftmanship and that the works can be worn and enjoyed for lifetimes.
Bower studied Art, ceramics and metalwork earning a BFA, then apprenticed to become a goldsmith. She teaches her craft in workshops both live and online.
